About 4fg

The property service of 4fg was founded in 2005 in response to the excessive fees charged by estate agents. Shortly after it was realised that a free service could also be provided for the buying and selling of books.

The two key objectives of 4fg/books are:

• To provide a free service for people buying and selling books.
• To provide a website that is shaped by the people that use it.

Although not as expensive to sell a book as property, we believe that people are still being overcharged for selling used books by certain online retailers. Charging commission rates of 10% - 25% to sell a second hand book is rediculous. 4fg's mission statement is to put a stop to this overcharging of the public by providing an excellent alternative and free service.
