Why Free?Several online retailers already provide a buy/sell service for books. So, why yet another? The reason is simple - cost. A leading online retailer who's name begins with the letter A can charge a fee of £2.50 (+ VAT charge) for selling a used book priced at £10.00. This is a hefty fee if you sell a lot of books. Such fees are particularly expensive when you consider that once the online service is setup it costs the service facilitator effectively nothing! It is the seller who does all of the work of listing, packing, posting and taking payment for a book. |
